Doe Down

Watch HunterByDesign Prostaffer Ryan Remole put the smack down on a doe. Ryan made a beautiful shot on this deer and the video bears the proof as the doe ran a very short distance before piling up. Enjoy!

Best of luck to you all!

“Young Deer With Potential”

“Brows”

Here are a couple of pics of some young bucks that hopefully make it through this year. Looks like both of these deer have some great potential and should make for some fun encounters this bow season!

Getting pics in our area in north Missouri has gotten a bit more tough this year as we aren’t allowed to set out salt licks, corn or anything else to congregate deer pre-season for some pics. There were a few cases (and I do mean few) of CWD up north of our area that has put our all powerful conservation dept on high alert and there seems to be a little bit of kneejerking going on around there.

Just got another camera out down here in southwest MO so hopefully I’ll have more pics to share with you soon. Stay tuned…

Custom Vinyl Decals for Waterfowl Trailers

I try not to plug myself very often, but here in the past month I’ve had significant interest in my waterfowl trailer layouts/decals. I wanted to show a few of the projects/layouts that I’ve designed and give you a brief rundown of the process. As you can see from the pics, I have both geese and duck decals. All of my decals I personally traced off of pics of actual birds, so if you’re looking for the cartoon style of decals these are not them. A significant amount of time was spent trying to capture the reality of the bird along with the functionality of vinyl decals.

I can do these layouts custom, meaning that if you’re wanting more birds, less birds – whatever – it can be accomplished. The colors of the actual decals can also be switched up depending on your trailer color and what sort of look you are wanting. I can also design logos that can be incorporated into the layout. The logos I make are saved in all the formats that you could possibly need to do anything from letterhead, to website headers, to signs, to t-shirts, to hats, etc etc.

All the vinyls that I use are high performance which is the highest grade vinyl that can be used and in reality, the only vinyl recommended for vehicle graphics. You can definitely get graphics cheaper with economy grade vinyls, but in the long run, they become more expensive as they’ll last about half as long on most applications. Sometimes I’ll cut the vinyl myself and send it to you, or I also like to work with a local sign co in your area. I send them the files needed and they cut and prepare the vinyl for installation and/or install depending on what you’d prefer.

Plese feel free to contact me with any questions regarding your trailer/vehicle. Best way to reach me is by email at www.HunterByDesign@gmail.com. In the mean time, good luck hunting!!

Coyote Down

Coyote in the Dirt

The following video pretty much tells the story. After sitting in a bow stand for a couple months, it’s nice to pull the trigger on the ol’ rifle!

Kat Killers

Bobcat Down

1st Bobcat for Travis - Congrats!

Ryan scored another cat this year when this cat slipped in on him while deer hunting. Ryan put this cat down with his .270.

Even though you might think that Travis strangled his cat with his necktie that is now missing from his button up the front shirt, this is not the case. Travis put this cat down with a nice shot from a .30-.30.

If you’re not seeing/shooting big bucks, I guess you might as well be taking out a few predators. Congrats guys, nice shooting. I think I just heard our turkey population exhale a collective sigh of relief!

Well Shut My Mouth!

Monster Buck

Wow is about all you can say about this deer. This deer was killed up in north MO here in the last couple of days. This deer has it all – the drop tines are like icing on the cake.

Funny side note to this story is that my brother-in-law saw this deer very early that morning on the way to work while it was still dark. He said that the deer stood not 20yrds off the side of the road while he stopped his car and sat there admiring him.

Didn’t personally know the hunter that shot this deer as I believe that he comes in from the city to hunt. Sounds like he had been hunting him hard after catching some pics on a trail cam. So a congrats to the hunter that shot this deer and lets all hope that this buck has been doing some heavy breeding over the past few years!!

The Rut is On!

Chasing Does

The Rut is On!

This is a grainy pic off of some video I took right at dark this evening (Nov. 4th). It was a great hunt that has left me pumped to get back out into the woods! I’ll put these snippets of vid together at the end of the week for you all to enjoy, but here is a quick pic to show one of the guys I’m thinking about chasing! Follow me this week as I post pics and stories (hopefully some video) as I chase the ever exciting, ever elusive whitetail deer! The rut is on – get out there!!

Doe Down Video – October 21st, 2011

Hiking With the Kiddos

She Thinks She's Hidden

I had to share these pics with you right off the bat. I was hiking with my family at the Nature Center (Springfield, MO) when we had all sorts of neat encounters with the deer there. My kids absolutely loved it and my release finger just kept twitching;-)

My hunt this last Friday (Oct 21st) was a great one! I was hunting down in southwest Mo, on a property that is fairly new to me. My strategy this year was to hunt the edges to where I could see a lot of ground and sort of be scouting while I’m hunting. I’ve learned the hard way that going into a new property and hunting a small area in the middle of the timber that looks really good can lead to many deerless hunts and nothing learned of deer movement in the process. It’s better to hunt a more open area that may not be as conducive to bow range, but at least you can get on the deer soon as you begin to see some patterns emerge.

This video pretty much says it all for the hunt – Enjoy!!

Rut Madness!

This has to be one of the most exciting hunts I’ve been on in a long time!  The vid pretty much says it all!

Big Boy Caught on Camera!

Beautiful pic!

Beautiful, beautiful deer.  This deer was caught on a undisclosed person’s trail camera at an undisclosed location ;-)  Hint, unfortunately it wasn’t mine!!  This is a great Missouri buck – this warm weather might be putting a damper on the hunting spirits, but these pics should pull you right back into the big buck fever!

Just wanted to share these with you all – Good luck – Send me pics with your story!!
